Mr. Fernando is a Professional Accountant in Business and has several years of experience in business and the profession. His contribution is beyond the confines of the profession which include the Corporate World and the Community at large. He was the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Developing Nations Committee, President–South Asian Federation of Accountants, Advisor/Chairman‐SAFA Committee on improving Transparency, Accountability and Governance (CiTAG).He is a fellow member of the ICA‐SL and CIMA‐UK; MBA holder ‐ USQ‐Australia; Fellow‐member of CMA‐Sri Lanka; Senior Member‐CPA‐Maldives; Member of CISI, serves The Advisory Committee member of Sri Lanka; serves as a Non‐Executive Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee and the Integrated Risk Management Committee of several companies. He also serves on the Director Boards of several leading companies in the Banking, Finance and Insurance sector.
